Hope you and Ordo don't mind, I had a go with it too. The photo is cute, but looks a little soft, which may be due to resizing. I did the levels adjustment, then adjusted saturation on the yellow, cyan, and magenta channels, and lightened her eyes, and sharpened a little. About 5 minutes.

Here's a version using PE2 (pretty much the only thing I have):

- Adjust brightness/contrast levels to theoretical (Enhance Menu)
- Minor tailoring using the "Color Variations" panel
