Cute Sam, but something is wrong here. I can't put my finger on it, hopefully some one else can identify it. Seems too soft? foucs problem? Maybe it is just my monitor.

I think it's motion jitter. She was walking toward me when I snapped the shot. It's funny. If I blink, she goes into focus and then "fades" out of focus as I stare at it.
I liked the color behind her (actually it's the light over the kitchen table). |

Sam, first off, your niece is precious. I think your photo suffers from flat lighting and under-exposure. I did a levels adjustment and added some saturation, contrast, and unsharp mask in PSE. Hope you don't mind!

Thanks Frank, but I may have overdone the background. Guess it doesn't matter, as the OP hasn't looked in on this thread in a while...

Sorry, been tied up.
I like what you did with the exposure, but I agree the background is a little over saturated. My PP skills are limited to crop, straighten, and (sometimes) cloning out an object. When I try to play with levels, I'm never satisfied with what I come up with. :P Thanks for the upgrade. I'll send it to her parents if you don't mind. |

Thanks Hawg.
I do appreciate it. Sorry it's taken so long for me to get back to you, it's been crazy. |
