Oh, I didn't quite understand your question on the previous post. A couple things can be happening to cause what you are seeing. First let me ask, do you notice this washed out look mostly on your own images? If so, when you save your files check the save options when naming your file. A heavy compression will eliminate lots of detail. Since most of the images you've displayed are rather large, I'd say that you are compressing heavily for the files to be within the file size limits(250400 bytes) of the site.

Are you using the default colors for this site? If so, go into your profile and change the settings and change the background color to white or at least match the colors you use in your editing program.

My images start out at 42 inches by 32 inches at 72 dpi. I reduce this to 25% in landscape mode or 20% in portrait mode. This reduces compression usually to 8 or 9 which is not bad. Now if you look at the example above do you see a difference between the two images? If you do then you have the same problem I do, because they are exactly the same image.

Very nice potrait shot Bynx, i also see the picture comparison as it appears on steves L, i wouldn't know why though my pictures look the way i send them
