Iquiteadmired your reference to the 'Rip Van Vinkle' character : ) Made me take back to my university years (when I was a student' and myfavourite book in the library:the Norton Anthology of American Literature : )
Well, as the eye is used to perceiving from left to right, Itried flipping the photo horizontally and enlightened the shadow just a tad and cropped some behind the tree to bring more attention to the subject. Hope you don't mind.. You've conveyedthe mosttranquil moment we are all looking for ![]() |

Bynx,
I really like your idea and the composition. Great work! (did you use a 10 second timer, camera on a tripod?) In this instance, I think the "left to right" aspect bahadir suggests probably does work better with me too (though in other instances, I find it doesn't apply... at least to my mind!) However I felt that Bahadir's edit was left without enough contrast. Here is my quick edit / attempt at your photo, but I'll take nothing away from your original attempt....! I cloned out the lens flare (I guess that's what it was, at the base of the tree, a bit of a crop, yes flip, shadows / highlight and also a slightly warmer hue...). Paul |

Thanks PJ. You got the correct contrast. Colors are as I recollect. I dont know if that was lens flare or not. I put it to a spot of dirt on the ground but you could be right and it looks better cloned out. And yes, on a tripod with 10 second timer. Thanks again.
