I guess I've been kinda psyching myself up to post some photos on these forums. I took delivery of my EOS 20D a week ago and so far I've only been playing around with it. I'm primarily a landscape photographer and I've not had a chance to get "out and about" with my new pride and joy yet.

However I've been firing off a few shots with the built in flash around the house.

I took this one with too small an apature to blur out the background properly (which is our cooker and a cupboard door) so I did a bit of a hack of it in Photoshop Elements, adding some blur myself. Looks like I made a bit of a clumsy job of the selection, but I guess you got to learn sometime and the best way to learn is to do!

Only last apology before actually posting this snap is that my monitor is only calibrated by eye so far, so I really don't know what the colour balance and gamma are going to be like on this for you guys looking at it. Will invest in a hardware calibration system once my bank account has recovered from the shock of the 20D a little bit!

This is Michelle, my two year old daughter. We call her Shelly.

Judging from your location I'll bet, by comparison with other countries, the 20D had a little price tag shock to adjust to...but...what better reason to justify it? Spectacular ray of sunshine in your first post! Best regards,

An adorable shot and an expression that only a youngster can deliver. I just got my 20D yesterday and can't wait to see how it compares with my DRebel and Nikon 8800. Unfortunately, its wet and grey outside for the next couple of days.

Anyway, nice photo.

Thanks all for your comments. I'm hoping to take many many more of this little lady over the coming years. I think I just wanted to post something as I'm so very pleased with the new camera. Just a little frustrated at the moment with the weather - it seems to be so cold and wet and dull and miserable at any opportunity I do get to go out. Ah well, spring is on the way I guess!
