Hi,
These were taken with my new Canon Rebel XSi that just arrived in the mail. I had my 50 mm F1.8 lens on. Is the DOF too shallow for these? I sort of like it that way but I'm very curious as to other peoples opinions. Do you think they are out of focus? From my other post in the "other" section called "pizza night", I realize I need to be better with determining where to focus. Tips, thoughts, comments are welcome. John |

John, congratulations on the new baby, and the new camera! Great shots, and yes the DOF is thinner when you shoot that lens wide open, but here it works. Both pics are sharp where focussed, so I think that part is good. On the second pic, I took the liberty to do a levels adjustment, then adjusted the color for skin tones in PSE 4. Hope you don't mind..

Thanks! Your adjustments look nice. I haven't messed around with post processing at all - I'm just having fun with my new camera!
