She's adorable! As for the shot, something doesn't look right. I have no idea what it is (I'm no great photographer), but she almost looks photoshopped into the picture.

Very nice photo. She's very cute. The only thing I'd do differently would be to clean up the yellow plastic surrounding her a bit.

Hey,I hope I didn't insult you with my comment on the shot. Like I said, your daughter is a beautiful little girl. I also love the colors and composition of the shot. There is just something in the original image that looks a little "off". It's especially noticeable around her hair. I can't quite figure it out, but it doesn't matter. I just didn't want to offend you.

You did'nt offend me gadgetnut. The first image is the original. Apart from being resized for this post.

I will have a play about with the image. To see what I can do. Cheers mate for you input.

if you are trying diff techniques in cleaning the plastic i would try using the brush tool, sampling the darker yellowy tint, selecting "lighten" in the blend mode and maybe setting brush opacity to around 70%. this should make the brush only target the browney spots and bring the shades all up to arrpx the same level. This should clean any browny spots on the yellow.

When doing any cleaning up try to mask up what you want to clean so the entire image doesnt get softened, blured etc. This way you can control where you want to decrese?increase details etc.

Its definately worth the while taking care when masking as itwill show in the final result. Also makes it much easier to manage and work with. Also using feathering makes the image blend much nicer with altered and unaltered layers. Again manipulating layer opacity levels and revealing slight portions of the unedited shots make the shot look much more authentic.

back to the shot

i like this shot and i think the playground makes for a funky frame.
