Hi Bahadir,

Great photo... and great timing of the day, capturing that warm and soft setting sun glow. They look very tanned and very happy children (I'm sure they are!)

I'm sure you can tell them (and us) a thing or two of such rulers they "sit under" of so long ago...

It's a great composition... I like the expression on all four of them.

It was about 19:30when the mellowed sunlight complimenting the landscape...Yeah, as a matter of fact the kidsbecame a bit much tanned! I bet it was them who most enjoyed the holiday duringwhichalmost every will of them was granted : )

The one on the rightwas the ruler of Caria (the south-west of Anatolia) and the one on the left, his wife Artemisia. Upon his death in 353 BC. his wife Artemisiaordered a magnificient tomb for himwhich was to beone of the seven wonders of the ancient world two of which are in Anatolia. As you see, the word mausoleum which we use today comes from his name. This monument whose remains you can visit in Halicarnassus (today's Bodrum) measured 160 feet in height and 117 feet in width consisting three storeys. The third storey was urrounded by Ionic columns of 40feet high among which 36 large statues of Mausolus' family stood..
