My daughter Sophia, taken with my 50mm 1.4 on the good old XTi camera (only using available window light).

I love how this picture has a "soft" focus, giving it an almost dreamy effect, while not appearing "out of focus".

Thoughts?

You know, I can't seem to get enough pictures of my kids. Thank goodness they still enjoy having them taken.

Playing around with multiple flashes. 580EX II on camera, controlling a 430EX off camera right (using an umbrella). Check out the EXIF for further details.

There is some foliage in the background, that detracts from the image somewhat, but I think it still works.

Thoughts?

Your flash shot is nicely rendered! That's what I want to get comfortable doing!
Take care,
Glen

Try using a reflector in your shot to diminish the shadowing under her eyes and neckline.

Nice shot nonetheless.

Here is what happens when you tried to use a foam-core reflector, with a two-year old helper.
