Default Pensacola Interstate Fair

As the title suggests; I went along to the Fair today with the grandkids, and their mom, grandmom, and great grandmom. I shot 275 pictures, and kept 36. Some of those are not really great, but better than the "binners" lol.

Tonya and Bella in a race car. She is so little, the bar "hits" her across the nose. Well, maybe next year...

Great granmdmom and Ethan

And some pics of a model train display.

This shot is Ethan looking through the fence at the petting zoo. I had my AEL button set to toggle and hit it by accident, so I over-exposed a few pics before I caught it and fixed it. Anyway, I turned up the contrast on it and de-saturated it and got this.

Last one, Tonya and Bella coming down the big slide. Motion blur added for effect..

Thanks for looking! Fairs ars fun. Had a foot long corn dog for lunch!

Hawgwild,

We just took my 3-year-old to the fair too. I got some fun pics as well. The food is my favorite too. You got way better roller coaster shots than I did. I made a bad decision to switch from my zoom back to my 18-55mm in a failed attempt to get a pic of them right as the coaster started. Unfortunately it was right at dusk and everything was conspiring against me.

Great photos.

Hi Brad. thanks.. I got lucky. We arrived at 10:30 am, so I was able to shoot with f8-11 and high shutter speeds. I only took one lens, a Tamron 28-300, and it did ok in most situations. I just didn't want to carry ANYTHING extra. On the roller coaster, I turned my camera into a fixed focus point and shoot. I pre focussed manually, and set my f stop to 9 for dof, iso400 and a shutter speed of 1/2000. The rest, for me, is always luck. Like I said in my original post, I took 275 pics, and kept only 36...

Nice pics Robert.

This is one of the main reasons I started using nice photo equipment again. Your grandkids are gonna really appreciate the effort you put into documenting their childhoods when they get older.

No funnel cake?

You've captured the emotions of the fair so well! That last image is perfect....nice sense of motion, but yet tack sharp!
