I may look really scared & perhaps a bit insane, but I wasn't & I'm not, honest.

It was a releif to get them off my arm & I could still feel them there for a while (bit like when someone mentions fleas & you start itching).

Here is my friend Ed who also had a go:

Nice emperors. I've got a couple of those bad boys too.

Great animals.

Interesting "look", Ziggy!

Can your stint on "Survivor" be far off?

This was at the butterfly kingdom on Sentosa Island (Singapore). The chap who looks after the scorpions has 78! But he doesn't name them all.

I like their brightly colored Poison sacs. Kind'a makes you wonder what a good strike could do...

The sting is harmless. It could be the equivalent of a bee sting, depending on how you react. Emperor Scorpions don't usually sting, they mostly use their large claws to kill their prey. I've actually never seen an emperor use their stinger. That's definately not to say they don't use them, because I'm sure they do.

However, I've never been stung, but I have been pinched.

Here is a photo ofone myfemales stinger.

You can tell how dangerous the venom of a scorpion is by looking at the size of its claws. If it has tiny claws then the venom is very strong and it'll use that to catch food or defend itself. If it has big claws then the venom isn't as bad and it'll use them to catch food or defend itself.
Or so I'm told...

But, if its eyeballs look like they're just about to pop out of they're sockets then it's lethal!
