Hi
A tearful moment is never far away with my little daughter. I took an oppertunity to capture some tears this time on 'film'. I would like to know what you think of it. Obviously I done a little bit of PS work to get the final result.

Regards,

Martin Paul.

its a really good shot but I would prefer to see the tear clear, it has a blue tinge to it on my monitor.

Wow, very good.
The blue I think is a nice addition, I'm really impressed by this, great work.

Greetings,
Frank

I love this shot. I actually didnt notice the blue tear until pointed out but now that I do I agree with Frank. I think it's anice touch and would like to see what it looked like a bit bluer to stand out from the b&w as something different.

Martin, you do people as effectively as you do swans!

Very nice shot, Martin! I like the blue tint you retained in the eye and added to the tear. The saturation is just right - visible, yet subtle enough to startle you once you really become aware of it.

Hi Vito
It was just a case of converting the image to B/W using the channel mixer (mostly red channel). Then I created a mask for the channel mixer layer and 'painted' the eye back in. I also increased the contrast of the eye with a quick selection and adjustment of the curves. As for the tear I used the paint brush (set in color mode) and painted the tear with a suitable blue, opacity at about 30%.

Hope that helped?

Martin Paul.

Yep, a beautifully simple shot but well thought out. One of the best i've seen on this forum.
