Which shot is the better? they were shot like this so no cropping of original to improve the compositition. Is it bad to have thearms cut out in the second shot? Are they bad shots overall? I need make a choice between the two and can't make up my mind:roll:

Hi,
Number one the casual shot of a baby nothing special.
The second one there has been some thought about composition, meaning a much better shot.

Would love to see a bit more on eye level but the second is MUCH better.

Greetings,
Frank

I agree, number 2 is better. However, I would increase the saturation & contrast some (you can see the difference between image #1 & #2).

My opinioin doesn't cary as much weight as Franks and Kalypso's, but I agree the second one is better. 1st seems a little washed out, 2nd has better skin tones and the only thing I would like is maybe a little more room above her head. I don't find anything wrong with cutting her arms out with this composition, I only find it bothersome if half the arms are in and half not. This is more of a head shot and they are not needed IMO. Cute baby

I like the 2nd one better too. The baby fills up the frame a lot more.

Is this a gift I presume?.

The tighter crop works better IMO.

Hi;

I know you're not asking for a makeover here, but there's a couple of things you can do to help choose. #2 is a nice shot, but the contrast is not as good as the first shot. In both shots the white of the sweater is a little blown out - it's often very hard to avoid. The skin tone, as well seems a little more pink in the first shot.

I hope you don't mind, I tride a couple of things to see if I could make some worthwhile adjustments.

What do you think?

Hi;

looking at how it turns out on the screen now, it seems just about the same to me. Ah, well, I tried.

By the way... beautiful baby!
