Just wanted to show off the reason for picking up a new camera. Photography has always been something that interested me, but never took the plunge, and always regretted not having a decent zoom, or a little more control etc. So even though my Olympus d370 isnt quite retired, it doesnt quite see the action it used too Love the new DX6490...had it a month now. Nothing horribly interesting here, I wouldnt even call myself an amatuer yet...but I'm at least able to learn now.
Heres a few pics I resized for the occasion (and my two biggest reasons for getting the camera, I can now catch my elusive children in thier natural habitat. If they see a camera they start hamming it up)

and finally, I had my 3 yr old with me and she's sick so I had to take this through the windshield, doing the ole steering wheel as tripod. I dont recall the settings I used or anything, but do mostly shoot in the PASM mode, since I prefer not to use the color saturation.
Hope I didnt bore ya'll to much
BTW none were editied other than a crop and resize

Hi Gruss;

Nice job. Did you use flash (or a reflector) for the beach shot of your daughter? I notice the sun is behind her, but her face is well lit.

Good work. Keep 'em coming.

Regards,

Tom, on Point Pelee, Canada

If I remember correctly, no, I tried the flash but she's pretty light and it washed her out, I just kinda went around until I found the right angle. I think Sand makes it easy, nice and reflective.

The beach shotwas the day I decided to see whatthe aperture settings reallydid, kids just got in the way
