My niece Rebecca will not allow me to photograph her but I caught this shot on the sly and thought I'd try to get something different out of it. She is only 14 so hardly going to look too glamerous:-)

I think you might be on to something. See if you can convince her to peruse this site and maybe she will oblige you by posing. Frank and Kalypso definately inspire me too. I check for their work all the time. I am lucky enough to have a young art student to model for me and we use Kalypso's and Frank's work as a reference. As a beginner I am much more comfortable working with someone I know personally, for portrait shots. Good luck!

Very nice attempt, and I feel honoured (blush).

The selective color is wonderful, the background is also very inspiring, what you could try is to let the model just look a little bit more in the camera, let there be a connection.

Keep on going.

Greetings,
Frank

thanks,

that was a sneaky shot, if she sees the camera she hides her face:-) Maybe one day I will talk her into letting me get some half decent shots.

Hi Julie;

Considering you had to catch her unawares, a nicely framed and lit shot. The editing really brings out her features. She will be a great model when she's ready for it.

Regards,

Tom, on Point Pelee, Canada
