This was taken in our backyard. Just thought it was a nice snapshot to share.

Very nice...certainly warmer than our frozen north. Where was this taken? Nice to see pictures of lush greenery...much prefer that to the icicles outside my door. Oh, andof course your lovely wife compliments the setting perfectly. Gorgeous back yard! Best regards,

Kenneth, thank you for the kind words. The picture was taken at our home in Visalia, California, USA. It was taken a few months back in summer. We do enjoy warm weather and like to travel to places with palm trees. Although we want to see Canadasometime soon.

If you would like to see more of our pictures go to:

This was my first photo post so it was very nice to get a positive response. Thanks again.

P.S.

You made my wife's day.

I like your picture. Your wife will be very pleased. It's great for a lady to have her own personal photographer. Is that by any chance one of the tikis I can see on the rocks? Are there really three, or just one turned three ways?

....What's a tiki?!

Martin,

Thank you for the comments.

That is a tiki on the rock, although it's not one of the "Threetikis". We have lot's of tikis. We first startedcollecting tiki mugs at tropical bars that serve Hawaiian style adult beverages in them such as the Mia Tia. We have since graduated to collecting stone and wooden tikis for our backyard. Tikis were originally worshiped as Gods by the people of Polynesia but back in the early 1960's they became sort of a symbol for the tropical cocktail lounges and exotica music popular then. We like them because they remind us of vacationing in Hawaii or Tahiti but we do have a respect for them and realize that they were (and possibly still are) a religious symbol to some people.

And yes, the "Threetikis" are just one tiki turned different ways.
