Impressive kick, but make sure he keeps his eyes open during kumite otherwise he'll be leaving himself exposed to a potentially very unpleasant counter. :-)

btw - nice jump, bet you can't do that anymore!

I always keep my flash hidden in my gi...evens the odds. (hehheh...heh!) The old guys need all the help we can get. And gravity and I have a whole new relationship since that picture was taken. (my wings have been clipped) I got nearly that hieght a couple weeks ago on my way to the garage. Hit a frozen sheet of ice...feet were up...over my head...form was brilliant...then I was picking myself up off the frozen tundra, wondering what hit me. A fifty plus body doesn't react to being body slammed the same way as the young fellers. :?Thanks for viewing...best regards,

Age slows us down a bit but we get sneakier to compensate - a modern equivalent of the old sand-in-the-face trick eh?

Great kick! Should post a pic of me doing a kick like that.

And a WOW for the flying side kick. Man, that is awesome. I just started to learn how to fly at my old school. Hard, hard stuff. I only got about a few inches off the ground and even less when performing the kick. :-)

Hi Alphie...thanks so much for the comment. I'd love to see your pics. Martial arts was my passion for many, many years. At the tender age of 58 I still spar with my young son, whom I have been working with since he was about three. He is much more passionate about his guitar tho, and we just goof around for fun, mostly. Best regards,

KennethD

Here's a photo from the same day, of me doing some light sparring with a great martial artist. (I'm blocking the kick with my mid section)

Thanks again....if you really like the flying kicks, you can train them even without a partner. Done properly they can be spectacular. I never tire of seeing them done, even after all these years. I'll watch for your pics. Best regards,

KennethD
