again, the background is too distracting and some of it looks sharper than Rachel's hair. you have a beautiful child ther. get her outside or in a less cluttered area and shoot away!!!

Gosh Dennis this was the 6th pic taken with the new camera. I wouldn't take a 1000 dollar bill for it. It was an unposed snapshot on full auto with no flash. She's 2 1/2 years old and formal posing is out of the question. here is the original.

Hey bigdawg,

I realy like the first picture. I feel the background is important . If you had more clutter and a child sitting perfectly still then it shows a more interesting story. Fact is, 2 years olds don't sit still for very long. This shot shows that she actually took a break from her busy day.

Here's a thought, take a very blury action shot as she is running past or playing. That would be a very realistic moment in the day in the life !!

Rachel is the twin that loves the camera. I think she knew what one was when she was one year old. In this one she saw the camera and was waiting for me and her mother to notice her. She was really starting to get frustrated that we weren't paying her the attention she wanted and then at the last moment I turned and pointed the camera at her and she put her chin on the counter just perfectly. The only regret is, at that time my lack of knowledge using the DX6490. After nearly 3000 photo's, I think I could do better. Thanks to all for the input and encouragement. I do take what is said and try to apply. Learning at my age takes constant effort. LOL

I like the second both seem alittle over exposed.
