I have a similar problem:
I have a Konica Minolta dimage X50 camera with a Panasonic SD card 256M which worked fine since April 2005. Now I get errorr message "Unable to use card". I want to rescue my images and copy them to my PC. What can I do? I did not format the card, nor would I be able to. The PC does not recognize the removeable disk at E: as it was before. The camera is ok since putting in another SD card works fine. |

I wonder why there isn't some sticky thread about this subject with general instructions, "not to do" list and links.

Or if you try to access card it gives error message. Try those recovery programs if they would manage to detect card. Also try this, it's made by data recovery company and especially made for digicam images. (JPEG and some RAW formats) http://www.pcinspector.de/smart_medi...uk/welcome.htm PS. Some memory card manufacturers, at least Lexar, offer some kind data recovery service for their broken memory cards. |

Windows does sometimes recognize the removable disk E:, sometimes just
for a second when I turn the camera off. PCinspector displays: Media:removable Size: 0 byte Drive state: busy Progress: all 0s Start button is hidden. |
