Although I'm an experience SLR user, my digital camera is an Olympus C-50 which has been satisfactory most of the time. I would like to move up to an Oly C7070 or a Canon G6 (more pricey). An additional cost for the G6 would be buying at least a 1GB CF card right away, something I could optionally do with the C7070 too. For the G6, I'm thinking that I could use my existing xD cards by using a CF adaptor but wonder how efficient this would be - especially the reliability and the write speed. Thank you for any advice you might have. B.

for about $87us you can get a sandisk ultra 2 cf card in the 1gb size. getting a CF-xD adapter costs about $45. there is no speed advantage in the xD card at all. it will be reliable though. if your interested in an original olympus CF-xD adapter PM me if your in the US. i have one that i used about 2x.
