Does anyone know if the Edge ProShot 4GB SDHC is any good for transfer speed?
Here's a link to some info http://www.buy.com/prod/edge-4gb-pro...204734647.html I've already got one, and I've got a DXG-595v (camcorder) on the way, and I was curious if I'd get good performance and speed from this SD card. Thanks in advance to anyone who knows. |

I don't know. But, you can get a Class 6 Transcend 4GB SDHC card with a lifetime warranty, including a card reader for about the same price now from newegg.com (a very reputable vendor). It's only $13.45 plus $6.99 shipping. ;-)

Click on the larger size of the first graph to see read/write performance of an 8GB Transcend Class 6 SDHC card (around 14MB/second write and 19MB/Second read with larger block sizes): http://www.tabletpcreview.com/default.asp?newsID=1096 |

Thanks, if the current one doesn't work well, I check into those.

I've been thinking about ordering one of the Transcend 16GB Class 6 SDHC cards with a reader myself. So, I've researched the benchmarks on those cards some.
I've been using a Transcend 16GB CompactFlash card since October of last year with zero issues of any kind, and I've taken thousands of photos with it without problems. From my perspective, at the current price ($13.45 plus shipping) for the Class 6 Transcend 4GB SDHC Card, it's a steal (chances are, you'd pay that much for an SDHC compatible card reader alone at many vendors, since many card readers don't even support SDHC cards. :-) I've been thinking about installing a Linux distro on a 16GB SDHC card so that I can easily use it on any PC if I want to, so the 16GB Transcend SDHC card would be an attractive option (the 16GB SDHC with a card reader is only $49.99 plus shipping at newegg now). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820208377 I use those guys for most anything PC related (and also buy my memory cards from them), since they have great prices with fast shipping. I bought from buy.com a number of years back. But, their reputation isn't what it used to be (lots of bad customer reviews anymore): http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Buy |

I don't use buy.com often, but i saw the low price cards there in an email. I usually use newegg.com too. But since I already have the card I posted here, I might as well try it before going and getting another one.
I don't need a reader, because my laptop has a built in reader that can take SDHC cards. ![]() |

Since May 2005 I have bought all my memory cards from newegg.com..... They always have the lowest prices from a reputiable dealer. Service is also fast 2 to 3 days and you've got it in hand. I bought a total of6 cards from them (2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and a two 1GB xD).
The primary card that I use is a Transcend 16GB 133x Cpmpact Flash Card, I also just bought an 8GB same version. I have done some family weddings in the past two years and always wished I had another large card to use so when the 8GB price went down I just ha to get one. I have taken close to5,000 images on the 16GB card and it worksvery very well. I also have a 2GB sandiscUltra II and a 4GB PQI 100xCF card. The strange thing abiout the PQI card is I got the 2GB and realized going on a trip that I need another card and found this one at newegg for $1more than the 2GB card. I bought it and 1 day later it bewegg sold out and did not choose to restock it for whatever reason. dave |
