im wondering since it has never happened to me yet
has it happened to others.
Im hesitent to buy a 4GB card in case data is lost or the card dies or whatever bad thing can happen should happen.
these cards have never failed me but ive never used more than 1 GB cards
any bad stories

I think if they're treated right they're pretty stable. I've not had any problems with mine (though I've only had CF cards for 6 months or so). I think it's safest to use the cards conservatively; which is to say, don't try loading photos or data back onto cards from a computer, and never attempt to erase or format a card from a computer. Always do that from the camera. After I have a full card I use a card reader to copy the photos to a computer directory, then return the card to the camera and erase/format there. You're less likely to run into difficulties that way.
