Hi

I have 2 compact flash cards at the moment, Sandisk Ultra II 512MB and a Lexar Pro 512MB 40x. I am going on a long vacation and I need to buy some more storage, so I am looking around for another memory card.

I know Lexar has WA, which is not suported by Coolpix 8700, so I was wondering if anybody out there has experience in the 40x & 80x in this camera and could notice any speed difference in the camera. I can't really see a difference between the Lexar and Sandisk, eventhough the Sandisk is suppose to be 60x. I gave up on taking pictures in RAW format since it takes about 10 seconds per photo before camera is ready again. I am taking it at 8M jpg - which has almost no delay.

If it does make a difference, I would like to go for speed, but if not, then space is more important. Which brings me to my next question - Microdrives!

Are they worth it, I read some mixed reviews in this forum, but how do they compare in speed compared to the CF anddo microdrives seems to have more problems. I can get a Hitachi Microdrive 4GB for about $169.99 which I think is a great deal.

Compared to Lexar Pro 80x 4GB at $449.99

Any advice would be appreciated.
