does anyone have experience with ridata memory cards. would you recommend them? they are cheaper than the known companies but does that mean they are less reliable?

Most of the posts here that mention Ridata flash memory cards do so alongwith Lexar, SanDisk and Kingston.

It seems that most people here that use them have no trouble with them.

I have several Ridata CF and SD cards in their Pro series (gold, and later silver) and Supreme series (green and black). They all work well for me in Canon cameras, such as the 300D, 350D, 400D, A710IS, and A650IS.

For some reason, they get mixed user reviews at Newegg and Amazon - people either love them or hate them. Most of the people experiencing problems are not very specific about the nature of the problem."Card no good - Do not buy!" doesn't tell me very much. My impression that many of the positive reviews came from Canon and Nikon users.

For comparison, I also have used Lexar, Sandisk, Kingston, Delkin, Viking, SimpleTech, and Transcend flash cards, as well as IBM and Toshiba microdisks. The only card that caused a major problem was a 384 MB Sandisk that would not format in a Minolta 7Hi. Later, it worked fine in a Canon 300D.

I've used Ridata cards more than any other brands like Kingston and Transcend.

I use them on Canon & Kodak digital cameras and on Pocket PC and Palm PDAs.

I remember only 1 problem - a newly bought card did not want to store the images. Took it back to the store right away, got it replaced and all is now well with the card.

No problem with lost or currupted images. I format in the camera always once I have downloaded the images to my laptop.
