At present,I am using the Sandisk Extreme III compact flashcard with my Canon EOS 40D camera.Anyway shall there be any improvements or benefitsif I upgraded to the Sandisk Extreme IV compact flashcardfrom the Sandisk Extreme IIIcompact flashcard while still using my Canon EOS 40D camera?If yes,what are they?Shall I get better image quality with my photos?

It seems that your 40D is capable of handling the very fastest of CF cards available (short of UDMA cards like the Lexar Professional UDMA 300x), and the Extreme IV may be noticeably faster than the Extreme III.
The only real benefit to using faster flash memory cards is when shooting bursts. If the card isn't fast enough, then the camera has to slow down in order not to lose anything while waiting for the card to catch up. So if you don't shoot bursts, then you won't see any benefit to the faster cards. |
