Trouble for Canon SD100 with SanDisk 256mb ?

First I had about 100 pics on the 256 mb, took another shot, and the camera said "Memory Error". When I replaced the 256 mb with a 32mb SD card, all was well.

After exchanging the first 256mb SD card for a second, I also encountered problems. This time I put an .avi on the SD card, and the camera can play the .avi, but uploading cannot find the image. Again, when switching back to the 32mb I can make images or avi's and upload with no problem.

In all cases I am using the default software that came with the Canon.

I note in the documentation that Canon only has specs up to 128mb .
Is it possible 256mb is beyond what the camera can do? I checked
Canon's site but didn't find anything.

Its also possible I've gotten 2 bad SanDisk 256's I suppose. They were from the same lot at BestBuy.

Anyone had similar stories to report or news to share?

That camera is capable of using any size SD card, even a 512MB one. The standard SanDisk (not the Ultra or Extreme) SD cards are quite slow when compared to others from Lexar, Ridata and Transcend but are no more prone to failure. If you have any more problems then I would get the camera swapped out - the trouble maybe the camera, not the card.

So, what cards will be good for this CANON ?
Maybe KINGSTON?

I have had zero problems with the Lexar brand SD cards in every camera that we have reviewed so far - they'd be a good bet.

So I will search for LEXAR, THX Steve.
