I'm curious if my digital camera, a Canon S30, will support a microdrive. I see the Hitachi 4GB microdrives selling all over Ebay for good prices, and am definately interested in them. Will my camera support this microdrive?

Also, is the Magicstar 2.2GB microdrive any good? Saving $100 is worth only getting half the storage of the Hitachi, since 2.2GB is still alot of pictures.

Last question, are these microdrives reliable? I'd hate to accidentaly lose hundreds of pictures stored on one of the drives that I had not had a chance to back up on my computer.

Ok, so I finally was able to find my manual to my Canon S30. It says that it uses Type I compact flash cards. So I guess this rules out my microdrive question (which sucks).

However, is this card worth the money?

I would like to buy another card for my camera, and would like the best MB per $ ratio. I've never heard of a 1GB compact flash card...are they good? What about a 2GB?

S30 can not use Microdrive, you must have a CompactFlash Type II slot. There are large capacity CF Type I cards. See my report:
