I have a new Canon A710 IS camera, a 2 GB Ultra II Sandisk SD card, and a couple of regular Sandisk 1GB cards, one of which I'm leaving in thepackage since I don't know if I'll need it and may eventually give to someone else, or return it.

Does it matter how I go thru airport security with these items. That is, can the spare SD be placed in my checked bags and go through airport x-ray, and can the camera and other cards go thru the scanners with my carryon bag with no defects to camera or cards?

Does it matter if the card is in my camera, or just in the carryon bag or handbag?

I will be on flights both in this country and within Australia and New Zealand, if that matters.

Thanks for any replies!

The X-ray devices will not harm either your camera or the memory cards.
