My sister had a problem with her 1g san disk CF card when trying to print from card on her HP 4X6 printer. She called HP and they told her not to use San Disk card in printer or damage to printer would result. After which they sold her an HP 1g card. Does this sound correct? I've never heard of a flash card ruining a printer.

ive never heared of a memory card ruining any hardware, the printer only reads the image data on the card and then transfers it to the ram where it stores the image untill the printing is done.

The HP presumes a standard format for memory cards. She should format the card in her camera, take a few pictures, put it back in the HP and see what happens.

It is likely that the format of the card might have been corrupted (especially if all she ever did was delete old photos without formatting the card), and that's why the HP didn't like it.

But no, there is no reason for a memory card to damage a printer. A memory card is a storage device. The HP might not like the format of the card, but neither one will adversely affect the other.

Yes you are right! Formating the memory card manly The memory cards have a big problem, they don't like moving from camera to reader or to printer.
