Hello
I am new here and owner of a new Canon S3 IS. So far I have only made aprox 120 shoots, some 40 at the first day, and later the rest.
I downloaded the first 40 pics with a card reader (older one), no problem. Later on another day I wanted to download new pics, about 100 and here comes the problem.

The Win XP camera wizard does not show the pics named IMG_0100.jpg onwards.

I can see the pics when the SD card is in the camera, but in the reader not. Also the
Canon software which came with the camera does not show them.

I could only download them connecting the camera directly to the PC.

Any idea what it can be? Is it the card reader? Is it too old? It's not USB 2.0 this one I have.

Forgot to mention I use a 2Gb Kingston SD card

Attached there is a screenshot.

Thanks for any hint.
Regards Alex

Can you view the pictures in your camera? If you can, then at least you know the pictures are still there.

Can you upload them using windows explorer?

I'm having problems with my card reader and S3.. whereas I can't view the pictures in my camera anymore from the computer. Hmm.

hi Raztaz
yes i can see the pics in the camera, doesn't seems to have a card or camera problem

i only could download the pics to de pc from the camera directly.

but the problem is via card reader. also windows explorer doesn't help, i tryied to copy paste from the camera and cardreader, without success.:?

i am starting to think about a new card reader, probably look for a Kingston reader to be sure it is compatible with my card.

if somebody had this problem would be nice to know.

Problem solved !

The problem was the card reader. Way too old.
I bought a new Sandisk Imagemate usb 2.0 reader, and everything is ok.

Good to hear it's resolved. I just got this camera over the weekend looking forward to learning how to use it more effectively.
