I bought a Canon sd700is and now need to decide on a SD card.

Looking for a fast 2gig card. The two I have come down to (I think :?) are the SanDisk 2 GB Extreme III SD Memory Card ( SDSDX3-2048-901 ) a Transcend TS2GSD150.

Considering that the SanDisk is more than 2X the cost which one should I get?

I really don't know too much about the cards. Is one really faster than the other? If there is a speed difference will it make a big difference in shot speed? IS there maybe another card I should look at?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the helpful link

Don't really see anything that has anything to do with my camera there.

Also didn't see anything there that told me if the more expensive of the two cards was really worth the money!

Maybe I'm missing something??

I have used only Sandisk from day one...Read an article once that said they were one of the top brands to use, so I bought and have stuck with them....Never had a failure or a bad card...I dont know anything about the brand you mentioned and it maybe just as good...I would watch out for the real cheap priced ones though...You might end up getting what you paid for...Go for the brand names...Unless you lose the card or damage it, it will last forever...I have one card that I know I have taken over 100,000 shots with...

Thank you

I was leaning towards the Sandisk anyway but didn't know if it was worth the money!

You might want to do a bit more research on your camera and find out what it's max write speed is. In many cases, you'd get the exact same performance from a regular Sandisk SD card as you would from a Sandisk Extreme III.

Just did a quick Google search. Someone posted this question to photohelp.com: http://www.photohelp.info/cameras/nikon/thread5.html

The response was that an Extreme III card would only be slightly (and probably not noticeably) faster than an Ultra II which is much cheaper.

I actually found that same page yesterday too!!! Looks like the Extreme may be overkill!

Thanks for the replies!!!!
