Hello, all!

I am a new member to this forum so please excuse me, if I happen to ask a question that hes been asked before...

I have a Sony DSC-F707 that I still use sometimes and I am thinking of getting a bigger Memory-Stick. When I first bought the camera, the 128MB-Stick was rather expensive but I got one anyway. Now, the 1 and 2 GB have become fairly common and I wonder which type of Memory Stick I can use...

In the user's manual, the say that "Memory Sicks" and Magic Gate Memory Sticks" can be used... does that mean, that the following types will not work:

Memory Stick PRO
Memory Stick PRO DUO

???

It looks as if only the latter two are still available...

Thanks for your answers!

Best regards fro, Germany

I fear you may be right.

Sony Support []http://esupport.sony.com/EN/info/mspro-camera.html] says that your camera will only work with the original Memory Stick and the Memory Stick Duo.

The good news is that the PSP Memory Stick might work.

You'll need to stick with the Original Memory Stick cards of 128MB or less.

Sony did come out with a Memory Stick "Select" that has two banks of 128MB built into the same card you can use.

Basically, it was two 128MB cards in one, and had a tiny a/b switch on it. When the first 128MB became full, you could flick the switch to the other position and have another 128MB (just like having a separate card).

But, they're pretty hard to find anymore.

The DSC-F717 supports >128MB Memory Stick Pro. But, the DSC-F707 is limited to 128MB Memory Stick.

BTW, the Sony website []http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151& amp;langId=-1&categoryId=28838&accessory=true] says they have the original Memory Stick 128MB in stock for $19.99 (expensive for 128MB, but I think they're the only source.)

Their website also says that free shipping ends 6/14. With free shipping, maybe $19.99 isn't bad.

B&H still has them, too. See my post in this thread for a link:
