Try putting the card into a card reader, instead of the camera, and see what you have. If there are photos on the card, you should be able to see them that way.

I PUT THE CARD IN A CARD READER TO VIEW ON THE COMPUTER AND I GOT THE WINDOW THAT SAYS IT NEEDS TO BE FORMATTED BEFORE IT WILL LET ME DO ANYTHING ELSE.

OK, that's a bad sign.

Try putting the card back in the camera, and see if you can play back the images on the camera's LCD display. If you can, then try connecting the camera directly to your computer, and see if you can transfer the images that way.

It may just be that, since the card wasn't formatted by the camera, it may have stored the images on the card in a way that the computer didn't recognize. Flash memory cards come formatted, though many cameras have special ways that they store images. It may be that, since the camera recognized the card but not the folder structure, it stored the images as best it could, but screwed up the file allocation table in doing so, and the computer doesn't like the result.

Upon further reading of the ADVANCED GUIDE (too excited to read at the time)

that came with my new camera,

it states that all cards must be formatted !! (lesson learned)

The pictures view great on the LCD of the camera so I'm going to load

the software & connect camera directly to computer.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP !!
