The best one I found is from Lowepro. They have to hard case models. The VC1 and VC2. Don't know if it protects the cards from x-ray machines in the airport. Are there such cases? What other brands should I look at?

Thanks.

Xray machines are not an issue for CF cards or any other form of memory that I'm aware of. My laptop ( and thousands of others every day) has been through xray machines many, many times with no ill effects and a hard drive is more delicate than a CF card.

Ok thanks. Assumed they were. As film rolls are. Also, a while back I was watching show show on the tube and they were talking about some "x-ray proof bags" (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc..._Bag_Mini.html). I think they were to protect film.

Any how, I'm still looking for memory card wallets with a hard case. And so far I've only found the 2 from Lowepro. So if any one has any suggestions...

My dad worked for FAA for 35.5 years and he says that memory cards are not effected by the xray machines (only film)at the carry-on checkin points. The TSA has tested SD and CF cards and they never failed...... He suggested one of the hard sheel cases . I have both the hakuba brand and sandisc brands and bith have worked very well for me. I even droped mysandisc into the river once and the mrmory card servived.

The great thing about the sandisc case is that the way the slot is setup I can store an xD card underneath a CF card in the same slot. I have 2 CF and 4 xD cards in my case. The one above has 2 slots and the one below has 4 slots

I got mine at my local radio shack back in April.

Thanks Dave,

Thanks for the information. Helps to have family in the industry.

I'll check out the Hakuba and maybe go to Ratshack for the Sandisk version. Though, I did go to the Sandisk website. Didn't see it there.

Have a good weekend!

I have the Hakuba case mantioned above and I like it very much. I also have a Gepe case, which has real hinges...

A tad larger than the Hakuba but very sturdy.

Thanks Mr. Thailand. If I can't find something in Toronto, which is unlikely, then I could order from B&H. Just have to risk getting nailed with import taxes. Have you ordered from them?

I have been dealing with B&H in New York for over 20 years. Probably the most reputable camera store on the net. You can order without any worries.

But I would think you could find the Gepe cases somewhere in Toronto. They have some good camera stores.

Here you go... Henry's in Toronto
