Hi

I am planning to buy the 9 Mp fujifilm finepix s9600/s9100.
It is my first digital camera and will use it to learn photography as a hobby.

It supports Xd picture card up to 2GB
and Compact flash

which one is better to buy?
I will NOT be recording RAW.

is the speed of the card is important??what speed card should I get? in terms of X

I will be buying a 2GB card to start with.

CF (and SD) cards are widely used by many devices for many purposes, whereas xD cards are less widely used, primarily onlyby Fuji and Olympus. That means that CF cards are more widely available, cost less per megabyte, and manufacturers release their largest, fastest cards in CF (and SD) before other formats.

The actual speed of the card really only comes into play when you are taking multiple photos in quick succession ('burst mode'), and this is usually only used in sports. If you won't be using burst mode, then the speed of the card doesn't matter much for still images. If you'll be shootingvideos, usually the manual will specify the minimum speed you should use.
