I just bought a Nikon D300 and I am wondering how many pictures I should expect to get on a 2G or 4G CF. I have never owned a Digital SLR and have never owned a digital camera that uses CF. I am leaning towards an extreme III 4G. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help!

Page 402 of the Nikon D300 User's Manual lists the approximate file sizes for the different file types that the D300 can create, and how many of each you should be able to get on a 2GB CF Card. The SanDisk Extreme III is a good, fast card, but if you plan to do continuous shooting (see page 76 of the User's Manual), especially withlarger file types, even the Extreme III might not be fast enough to keep up with the D300.
