I am having a hard time finding the right memory card. I just ordered a camera that says it suports microSD cards up to 8gb. All I can find above 2gb are microSDHC cards. Do they not make microSD cards at 4gb or 8gb? Should a microSDHC card work?

The difference between an SD Card and an SDHC card is the capacity. SD cards (and MiniSD and MicroSD cards) with capacities of 2 GB or less are formatted using the FAT16 file system. SD cards with capacities of 4GB and greater are formatted with the FAT32 file system. The 'HC' in SDHC stands for "High Capacity".
