Default Fast CF Speed == Less Battery Consumption?

My second post here, so I'm sorry if this has been answered. My search came up with a lot of hits so...

Does a faster CF Type I use less battery or more?

I have a A60 and was wondering (if I keep it) whether to go for a 12x or 24x speed 128mb card (that is if I keep the camera).

In theory a fast card should use less because it does its job faster, I think they all consume about the same amount of power which is negligible compared to the rest of the camera hardware.

Is there a significant speed-increase by use of fast CFs, especially in A 60 or A 300?
Can the cams send the pictures so fast?
Do the cams use a internal cache, how do they write data?

THX
