Default 8GB SDHC Secure Digital Card, which make?

I am after a good 8GB SDHC Secure Digital Card for my forthcoming camera purchase.

Can someone recommend a make that is proven to be reliable etc etc?

Thanks

sandisk, transcend, delkin, kingston, panasonic, and laxar are all good cards. Avoid Adata. Just do not buy form ebay useless you know the seller. There are allot of hack fake cards there.

So, no special SDHC card, they are all the same? Just go for a good brand one?

Sandisk seems to be the fastest, but not by much over the other card. But I have used these brands for work and personal uses. And they have proven to be reliable,

Choosing a card is going to be a lot easier than choosing a camera.
As the A230 doesn't have a very fast burst rate and doesn't do HD
video, you won't need a very fast card.

A low cost Transcend or DANE-elec class 4 card from your local supermarket
will do the job fine. 4GB is plenty if you are using JPEG. You can expect change
out of 10. The extra capacity of an 8GB card will be useful if you use RAW files.

If you do want a faster card, class 6 and class 10 from Transcend
and SILICON POWER seem reliable. These are good value on
eBay. You shouldn't have any problems if you use a seller with a
very high positive FB rating. The fastest and most expensive cards
like the Sandisk Extreme are more than twice the price and you
probably won't see any advantage from using them in the A230.
