Default Max Memory Limit/Capacity for Canon Rebel XS 1000D

I'm having issues with my Kingston 32gb SDHC Memory Card. At random times, it says cannot read/play image. I emailed Kingston support about a possible bad card and they said to check the maximum memory that my camera can support. I'm fairly certain it is the card and not the camera since I've used the same card on a Canon SD1000 (which I know has a 4gb max capacity) but it still provides the same error. I've tried googling for the information but couldn't find it.. Does anyone know the max memory capacity that a Canon Rebel XS (1000D)? Thanks in advance!

Sandisk says their 32GB card is compatible with the Canon XS.

Have you reformatted it in the camera. That may fix the issue... it may have been formatted wrong like in a computer at one point or another along the way.

Yup, I did reformat it in the camera.

Alas, I found out the real issue. Lesson learned...but I purchased the memory card on Ebay and found out it is a counterfeit card. The sticker says 32GB SDHC but it is most likely 2GB...blargh! If you google this, you'll find out more about it. Warning to all!

Thanks all for the help regardless.

NEVER EVER as we have said many many times here buy memory card off e-bay

Use places like newegg.com and bhphotovideo.com that may have a slightly higher price but they give you brand new cards and if its bad they will exchange it.

Fairly new to these forums, unfortunately, but duly noted now!
