Default D1X and 4GB Microdrive

Has anyone made a 4GB microdrve work in a D1X? If so how? Mine doesn't read the cards as formatted either with FAT or FAT32.

I would be surprised if it supported CF greater than 2G (i.e. no FAT32 support.)

I don't know if you can partition the drive into 2 2G partitions and then see if it would use the first partition.

Interesting question.

May be there's a reason as to why the camera is not listed:

Should a 4GB device be formatted in FAT16 only compatible host, the drive format without error but should indicate a 2GB capacity. Note the word "should". Different programmers can use different methods to handle this issue and for this unusual case, the result is not always predictable...

Well I tried to partition the drive in Win2K but it won't give the option to. Doesn't look like the Microdrive will work in the D1X. Guess I'll have to wait for my D2h to show up. I hate it when parts show up before the camera.

Thanks again and if anyone else has any ideas let me know.
