So did that older AVS work out for you or did you find something else that
worked...?

To be honest with you Wizzard I haven't had the time to do anything yet but I'll let you know when I have had a go at it. My pc has been giving me problems lately and I've only just got it sorted.Plus Christmas shopping etc.

I hear you...

Life can keep you pretty busy sometimes...

Be sure and let us know how things turned out when you get the chance...

If you find that you still have problems no matter what software you use I may
have another suggestion for you, but it involves disassembling and cleaning the
lazer of your DVD burner...

Wizzard 0003
I have just had a go at downloading it but it's a no go.
Probably my AVG security jumping in, as I have had to reinstall it recently, because it was malfunctioning, apparently it hadn't fully installed , when I installed the 2011 version a few months ago but it worked fine for some time.
The AVG is running well now but perhaps too well. I dont really want to over ride my security by shutting it down to download.
Anyway I appreciate your help greatly.

ImgBurn is another free burner that you may want to give a shot. It's user interface isn't quite as intuitive as some. But, it's quite powerful. You'll see a Download menu choice at the top of the page that takes you to a list of mirrors that you can choose from

http://www.imgburn.com/

Personally, I use K3B most of the time. But, it's Linux only. ;-)

Well I asked for simple and simple is what I got,I have successfully downloaded both yours and Wizzards burners,I used a different browser to locate them ???
Any way with the imgburn it downloaded in less than a minute. You select the disc type pop it in >add files and hey presto off it goes, finalizes and veryfies automatically, the problem I had was when I wanted to add files. It needed to delete all existing files before it would burn. I dont seem to be able to deselect finalize or unfinalize.I guess those options would come with the "buy it " deal.
Wizzard0003
I downloaded the old version which as you say is free but when I ran it, it said I could only burn 5 discs before purchasing. It didnt mention that before I downloaded it as the previous one did. Interestingly it is very comprehensive and took nearly 10 mins to download.
As a matter of interest I grew up in London England during the WW2 blitz with gas lighting, so all this doesn't come naturally to me.
Thanks again for all your help.

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to do.... But, if you add files to a project, you can right click on one to remove it before burning everything to disc.

I don't think ImgBurn has multi-session support if that's what you're attempting.

Usually, I just add everything I want to burn to the list (folders, files), then let it do it's thing (versus adding more to the disc at a later time, which AFAIK is unsupported by ImgBurn).

AFAIK, there is no paid version (it's freeware only).

I have a bigger problem now as neither my ROM drive nor my Writeable drive play/display any of my images either from the disc I have just created or one I did last week??
I've uninstalled both AVS and IMG but still no joy.
I just get a window with all all the file numbers underneath an image of a sailboat/sunset but no photos, when I click on them it says"no preview to display"???

What are you using to browse them with (Windows Explorer, etc.)? What Operating System?

Are they just jpeg images (for example, 64 bit Win 7 requires third party codecs to show thumbnails with some raw files, as Nikon's codecs won't work in 64 Bit Win 7 if you want to browse .nef files using Windows Explorer)?

Are you sure you got a good burn (verifying it with the software used to burn the disc)?
