Default Dvd burner advice

Hi ,
My Dell PC came with Sonic "MY DVD" already loaded into it and I have been using it for 5 years now.To be honest I have always found it to be temperamental,it siezes up and all sorts. It tells me my DVD is full and at the same time indicates it is three quarters empty.
It's really got on my nerves today as I have had to reboot twice just to burn some pics onto a DVD-RW 4GB disc.
Could someone advise me on a simple DVD writer ,I also write to Flash Drives as well.
I will appreciate any advice.
Thanks

It's the one I use when I want to make data DVD/CD's or burn an ISO...

If this doesn't work then I'd say you may have a dirty lazer in your burner or it's on the
way out... Also, having a system 5 years old I'd assume you're running XP and probably
don't have much RAM... Both of these things can hold you back regarding burning DVD's...

Just some thoughts...

Wizzard0003, I dont know if things have changed since you downloaded yours.
I have download it but to activate it I have to register and to register I have to pay 39$ for one year or 59$ for unlimited access which includes 1 years insurance?.
As I dont deal in dollars but pounds I will have a look around for a hard copy DVD burner and see what I come up with.
Thanks for your help anyway

Look around online to see if you can buy a copy of Nero Burning Rom (OEM Version) for a few dollars. This is probably the best DVD burning utility on the market. Normally this version is bundled as a package when you buy a burner. Some online merchants will sell it for about $5.

Hi, deadshot...

I think I found the solution for you... Here's the older version of AVS that's
totaly free... I've downloaded many app's from this site and they are OK...

http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail...r/1143199778/1

It's for Windows XP but if your system is 5 years old that's probably what
you're running (?)... Most likely though it will work even on Vista or W7...

Give it a go and see what happens...

You've nothing to lose, right...?
