Default Class 10 SDHC Compatibility

I was in an electronics store the other day. I wanted to purchase a SanDisk 16 GB Extreme 30MB/s SDHC Flash Memory Card. I was told by the sales clerk that my Canon EOS XSi (450D), is not compatible with the newer Class 10 SDHC cards. Has anyone found this to be true or false?

It is only not compatible with the new sdxc cards, not sdhc.
