Default SM card wear?

i have heard that with the smart media cards, if you insert and remove them repeatedly from the camera, you can wear down the gold contact leads. anyone heard of this, and is it true? i have an olympus c700 uz. thanks everyone.

Read that 500-1K uses Like rechargeable batteries. Lets see 128 meg card will take how many pictures, and that much 35mm film would cost than X 750 (middle #) but long before either card or batteries wear out we will have moved to mch much larger cards and batteries with much high mA rating. If in 97 you had bought a PII-333 computer with 5 year warrenty would you still be using???
