Default Picture Transfer Software

We have used Kodak's picture transfer software both with Kodak's DX3900 P&S camera and more recently with our Digital Rebel. Simply put a CF card in the USB 2.0 CF reader and watch the pictures melt off the CF card and be placed in dated directories....

It seems to me that there likely are some favorites out there. Tell me what you use....

(not sure if this is the correct place to discuss this topic???)

regards
Tim

Cam2PC does exactly that. www.nabocorp.com Does a lot more than that. Worth taking a look.

I'd rather my original camera pics weren't 'melted off the card' - at least until I've first checked COPIES on the hard drive and proved they aren't corrupt. VOX

Cam2PC gives you the option of copying or moving.

I used to use the Kodak PTS but got rid of it when I got my new camera - I wrote my own replacement http://www.dps.uk.com/freeware_transferer.htm which I like

I like to create a folder in the format Date-EventNameOrPlace and then simply drag and drop. The EventName Or Place later allows me to quickly find what I'm looking for if I can't remember the exact date.
So I guess I just use Windows XP with the card reader built into my Espon r300.

Yes, that's what Kodak PTS software and my Transferer software does - auto creates the folders etc. and copies it over.

Quick note to say I've updated this to 1.02.9 and added an auto eject facility in as well (Becasue I had some funnies when I pulled a SD card from the reader without ejecting it first, this sorts the problem for me!)

Edit - Whoops I thought I had my own thread, sorry... recap - I got some free software to transfer pics
