Actually I think he meant to store the photos on the external sd card of the tab to review. But cloud it from the tab. At 8gb, with the os and base app, you are only looking at 5gb of space. That can be eaten up with the big raw files form the 5d

My Motorola Droid RAZR lets me store apps on my microSD card. I can't choose where to download them, but once they're installed, I can move them.

I tried it with allot of droid dedicated apps form the vendors. Those apps can not be more. And their are allot of them unless you root the phone. But there is still allot of droid apps as well, with ice cream there are allot of hidden apps. There is a fair chunk of apps that is attach to the os. With a 8gb tab, you really only have 5gb on the device without adding microSD. And 3gb is used by the os.

shoturtle sounds like you had an older android device, android 2.3 and up allowed app to SD card for non-system apps. The other thing is it probably wasn't a newer processor, I've had a few android devices from the first motorola droid which was single core 512mb ram and 500mhz speed on up.

The galaxy tab 2 has a dual core 1ghz processor and 1 GB ram, it is pretty smooth in operation irregardless of whether you get the 8 or 16GB.

Yes I was suggesting copying the photos from the card reader to the sdcard on the tablet. Obviously cloud would work too if you're connected, but if not you can still backup and view photos.

Yes, I can't move the ones in ROM, but I can move the ones I downloaded.

Those are ones that eat up a fair chunk of the internal memory on a 8gb unit. And when you only have 5gb to play with out of 8, and 5 is being kind with ice cream and vendor apps. That is not allot of space to dl large apps. Are or 4gb apps and larger apps out there, and they will have issues when dl. And some of the apps when you have them on the ext can run into file structure issues.

That is my main reason for going with buying a 16gb unit and adding a 16gb or 32gb external sd. The whole system runs happier.
