Default SD Memory Card for 1080p video

Hi I purchased a Panasonic TZ40 (S30) yesterday, and I am in the process of trying to get memory, as I would like to also use the video function also for HD video.

I am looking at ScanDisk Extrene Pro SDHC 95mb/s UHS1 Classs 10 memory? can this card shoot flawless 1080p?

Thank you Sam

Newly formatted Class 4 cards can handle HD video, but not necessarily HD video + Audio, so for best results, you should use at least a Class 6 card, newly formatted of course.

Class 10 cards are necessary for capturing HD video + Audio while simultaneously capturing high resolution stills.

If, however, the cards aren't newly formatted, all bets are off.

Presuming, of course, that the label is real, the card isn't counterfeit, and the manufacturer hasn't fudged the numbers.

Hi TCav
Thank you for the reply and advice. I would be loooking at least a Class6. Sandisc is the one brand I am looking at. I dont fall for the cheap buys on ebay of Sandisc, and only buy from stores like Myer, David Jones or Computer stores.
