Default Lexar vs SanDisk

Has anyone any experience with any or all of the following compact flash cards: SanDisk Ultra II, SanDisk Extreme, and Lexar 40x.

I am interested in getting a fast-writing card for my camera and notice that they are all nearly identical in speeds. With respect to the SanDisk versions I read that the Ultra II has lower power consumption but the Extreme is more durable, or so I am told. I couldn't find much information on the Lexar card.

Can anyone offer opinions--preferably unbiased--about these cards? Does the Extreme use just as much power as the Ultra II? Is there much of a difference between writing speeds for them all? Durability? Reliability?

Thank you,

Kelly

What camera do you have? That makes a difference.

I have a 32x Lexar 1G WA and a 512 40x WA. During playback the 40x is clearly faster (but not by much.) Both have been reliable over the almost-year I've had them.

I doubt you need to go as fast a 40x or an Ultra/Extreme. I doubt the camera can write faster than about 12-16x.

There are other reasons to buy those cards (life-time warrenty, for example) but speed isn't one.
