Default Canon S500 memory card help?

I just got a S500 and want to upgrade the memory to either 256MB or 512MB. My question is, is it worth it to get one of the "high speed" cards or will the camera's buffer not allow it to get any faster? The camera seems pretty quick with the standard card, so will it bump it up even further with one of these new cards?

Also, I know that certain brands read/write faster than others even though they are not the "high speed" cards. Does anyone have any suggestions and/or experience with these?

thanks a lot,

The "standard" CF card that the camera shipped with is supposed to be high speed, so I don't know if it would slow down with a slower speed CF brand.

When I buy flash memory, I buy for the after sales support and the maker's reputation for customer service (in the off chance of a dud), not based on marketting gimmicks like 40x or 60x speed.
